Communication Unit

What stuck most with me about this unit are the different gestures that we may see as innocent mean something totally different on another part of the world. Just like for them the middle finger might not seem like a big deal, but to us it's an insult. There are different ways to  talk to different types of people and there is a certain way that you should talk to different people.

Holton Buggs & Jose Ardon

Jose Ardon is a Honduran man who had to start working from a very young age. He did realize that he didn't want to keep on working for someone else the rest of his life so he started looking into network marketing. As many other people he didn't get any success the first couple of years, but he soon found of a company called Organo Gold. Here he not only found a great company, but also a great mentor who is called Holton Buggs. Both of these men grew up having a totally different life than that life that they have now, but they didn't achieve this by sitting around waiting to win the lottery. They looked for something to invest in and once they realized how much this could benefit their lives and their families they got straight to work and started contacting more and more people.

Inappropriate Gestures

Part of our daily lives is to communicate with other people, but there seems to be some who are better at it than others. I know there have been times in your life when someone has done something or said something that just doesn't seem right. It sure has happened to me a number of times. I think it might just be that since we're all raised in different ways what might seem okay might be wrong to others. For us Hispanics it is custom to greet with a kiss on the cheek and say your goodbye's like that, but as I've grown up I've noticed how people might feel uncomfortable or just do not like it at all. To me it feels inappropriate when a guy first meets you and he hugs you as a way to say hello. I don't know it could just be that I'm not the touchy feely type, but when I see it I don't think it's okay. The lack of eye contact just always looks disrespectful and plain wrong.

Girls Vs. Boys

In any clothing store you ever walk into there will normally be two sides to it, the male and then the female side. It's pretty safe to say that whatever sex you are does in fact matter if something sales or doesn't sale. However, there are cases when a guy might buy a dress for his girlfriend or a girl buys her husband a cologne, but still even then gender plays a role in things. Picture this a group of friends are at the mall hanging out and just walking around. At some point the group might separate and half will go to Victoria Secret, while the others go to Hollister. Did you imagine the guys going into Victoria Secret? No, correct?
