Chapter two of this books speaks of clutter in our language. Usually, there is a certain amount of sentences or paragraphs that a teacher is asking us to write to receive credit. In order to have the required amount we often end up saying things that are not even needed. To be a good writer you need to reread and rewrite your sentences in order to keep the reader really engaged.
I learned that it's not always me who isn't reading the right books because I easily get distracted. It could also be the author of a novel using messy language. When you are ariting you have to keep in mind that this person has an entire world around them, but you need to bring them into your's to convey the message. You could start with so many number of sentences, but once looking over them several times that length should shorten.

On Writing Well- Part 1
William Zinsser exposed thousands of people to "the broad craft" as he calls it, of writing. You learn that while he has a schedule he sticks to when it comes to writing, there are also those who only write when their mind speaks to them. The first chapter tells the reader that of course there are different methods to writing and that there isn't one correct way. You have to know what is best for you and work from there. It might be at night while alone or it might be whenever you see an old couple still happily married and you feel the love pouring onto your paper.
I learned that even if sometimes words don't come naturally out of me, I can still make a good writing piece. I rarely rewrite things and maybr that's what prevents me from moving forward to the next level. Zinsser expressed that writing to him isn't easy. Writing won't always be be fun and people should stop getting frustrated when they can't find the right words for something. It will take hard work to get to where you want to be with your writing.

Lifetime Contracts
I think there should be some employees that earn a lifetime
contract. They should only be able to have this once the employee has worked
more than they have been asked for and continue to do the same if not more than
before. These lifetime contracts could benefit the employer if they continue to
work there in an efficient manner, but if the person thinks it is now okay to
slack off since the money is guaranteed, then the company will be losing money.

Tragedy Goods
I don’t remember when it was, but I know it wasn’t too long ago that a man was shooting in a movie theater I think. This was all over the news and everyone was talking about it. My mom and my aunt started saying they weren’t going to be letting us go anywhere anymore since there are crazy people all over the place now. When we started complaining because we still wanted to go to the movies they told us we should just rent movies and watch them at home. This is an example of how Redbox benefited from a tragedy. Netflix also benefited because we got the more expensive package instead of the cheaper one.

Breakfast TIme
When I was younger we used to live
close enough to a McDonald's that we would walk there. Sometimes if we would
wake up early we would cut through the other neighborhood and go get some
pancakes from McDonald's. At my church there are church camps for kids in the
summer and me and a couple of friends would always go to chick fil a the
morning before we left to enjoy some chicken biscuits that were ever so delicious.
After church sometimes my dad would be craving some waffle house and we’d go
sometimes I’d get a waffle, but other times I would get a sandwich or burger. The
point of all this is that we buy whatever the people offer us. I don’t think
that having Wendy’s for breakfast is the healthiest of the choices, but America didn’t
earn its fattest nation title by having fruit salads over burgers. Zaxby’s
breakfast would be good I guess, but from a vegetarian stand point I wouldn’t buy
it or ask for it. It’s about the money right? So, hey go for it.

Target Marketing
Teenagers shop at Hollister and their parents belong to the
middle class. The type of people that shop at whole foods are the ones who are
looking to get healthier. Mostly females would shop there. The white ladies are
slim of course some might be vegetarian or vegan. They are of the top middle
class and don’t mind spending the extra money for good, organic products. When
I think of whole foods I don’t think of a Hispanic dad shopping there I just
think of white people.
